Just want to say Merry Christmas, I hope you guys are enjoying this beautiful Christmas Day and spending time with your family. I want to give a couple shots out, I closed out on a couple of deals that are near and dear to my heart, which all my deals are but hey, they're going to be spinning their first Christmas today this morning. In their brand new homes. I want to give a shout out to the bullock family. I actually had one of my clients do a cash out refi you guys heard me previously speak about not sitting on your equity, pull some of that equity out and go ahead and do what's called a cash out refi to reinvest that money and to continue to make equity in a second or third property as well as residual income. Well guess what? One of my clients did just that. Listen, he reached out to me from that show last month. And he closed on two condos just yesterday. So congratulations, Mr. Salaah. Yeah, so anyways, it's Christmas. You guys. I'm excited. I've got a great show for you guys. I am looking at some awesome people right in front of me, which is my pastor, his lovely wife, wife, Wise. We always want to keep you know, the whole reason for Christmas, the season reason for the season, which is Christ. And as you guys all know, I've shared my testimony with you plenty of times. I am a avid follower of Jesus Christ. I always tell you guys, that, you know, it's my testimony that I'm even here talking to you today. The whole motivation for my show is to uplift my community and get the word out and get as many of you guys into homeownership as I can. So with that being said, I'd like to just kind of bring you guys in now, obviously, my show is about real estate. Not only are you guys blessing the community with you know, your ministry, you also our investors as well as what I'm told, is that right?

The table was right here. So what we did was when she moved into my home, and we we converted her property into an investment property. And from there, we did just what you were talking about. cash out refi Yeah, we did some cash out, and then started investing in more properties. Yeah, so we we were selling and buying and doing just different things since then. So it's been over 20 years now.

absolutely not. It was it was it was Ness, a great tool to have available to us. That helped us get into a second investment property. And I've done it more than once. We've done it several times. So and it was always to reinvest.

Right and Shawn, so you guys, you guys just recently bought a house as well. Right? What kind of recently but the last couple of years?

Yes, yes, we did. We bought a we just we had taken a break from investing for a while. But with the the market and way things were going with some opportunities. So yeah, we were able to get into the most recent one was a house over in the historic West west side. Nice. Yeah, we're actually using that as a headquarters for my son's organization clothes for kids. So yes, it's you know, it's got a it's an investment, but it's being used for nonprofit right now. But yeah, yeah, that opportunity came up. So we jumped right on. Yes.

And then a lot of things. Another thing that I point out of that not only can you do that cash out refi to maybe buy investment property, but you can also upgrade your home. Yes. You know, when I'm getting these first time homebuyers, I tell them listen, this is not your forever home. Okay, so in a couple years, we'll take that equity. And we'll go ahead and get you that little mini Taj Mahal that you you're trying to get me to find you now. But you know, but that's, you know, the beauty is that even the word even the Bible talks about owning land and owning property. You know, I just read a something on my way in this morning I was reading my work this morning. And it actually was talking about the apostles how they sold their property to turn around and give and be a blessing. So the Bible mentions you know, property many times one of my favorite verses is the verse or the about the woman that will you know, the what's the, you know, the famous thing, the woman at the well, and now not the woman at the well. And they'll call her blessed. What is it? Well, anyways, she, she considers she considers a plot of land and buys it. What is that power? 31? Yes, probably. Yeah, it's I couldn't think of it. But that's one of my favorite things, even, even before I really became a follower. I had heard that verse and thought, wow, I want to be that woman. You know, her husband trusts her so much that she would consider a plot of land and purchase it with the Lord. You know, even Mitch is out in the Bible today. So I always try to tell people create equity through wealth, or create wealth through equity. I said it backwards. Because, you know, that's the quickest and fastest way to build wealth for your family. Absolutely.

Even speaking of that, when you think of the proverbs 31 woman, she was so many things, but you're right, she considered that land, and she bought it. But early on, in that same chapter, it talks about how she made their clothes, and she did different things. So the moral to the Proverbs 31 Is that she did not live beneath, well beyond her means, right? So she had to be careful with, you know, a good steward. She was a good steward or die are very good steward. Yeah, what God had given them. And so then she was able to take that money that she saved to buy and

in village, and she invested it. Yeah, yeah. So that's the I mean, that's the whole point of my show is that I try to, like I said, get the word out. I know that you guys are very much involved in the historic West Side, especially the zip code, which it is. So and that's part of the historical west side. You know, in a lot of people don't even really know the history of the historical west side. And there's so much history there. Yeah, there's so much history, they're going over there. And they're starting to, you know, revitalize it somewhat now, but there's just so much amazing history. So I'm glad that you guys have your hands on that. I actually heard you guys did a remodel for some folks over there on the west side.

Well, yeah, we there was a there was a house that's actually just catty corner from our church there in the community called Vegas heights, right. And we partner with another nonprofit organization, who was looking for a family to bless. Nice. So they partnered with our church, and asked us if we knew of anyone and of course, we knew of a family who could use that. So got a bunch of volunteers together. Yeah. And a lot of all the materials and materials were donated. All the labor was donated, we were able to go over on a Sunday afternoon and actually took a couple of days but we completely were able to remodel their house and make it look brand new on inside. It was beautiful

and awesome thing is that the organization who did that was called Heroes and hearts and it's a little boy right here in Las Vegas. His name is Justin. Yes, I can't call his last name. But the nonprofit is heroes, heroes in hearts, heroes in heart. So he raised the money for this remodel of this home. Well, that is just amazing. You guys got your own amazing son as well. when I was 14, our family began to foster. And so the first shot that we began to foster, we picked him up from child Haven here in Las Vegas. And we brought him back home and open up his bag. And his clothes inside of his bag was either way too small, firm or way too large. And it really didn't fit him You can tell he didn't have a lot of confidence, and the clothes that he had on. And I know me personally, I like clothes that fit a certain way. Certain color clothes, things like that, right. And so he actually had school the next day, and he didn't have any of the necessities that he needed. It was around like 1130 at night, so my parents had to run out and go get him some stuff that he needed for the school school the next day. I mean, that was very stressful on them, um, as well as, um, he just didn't have the essentials that he needed. I mean, immediately after they got back home and gave him his new clothes, you can instantly see it was a big smile on his face. He finally had clothes that fit them the right way, right. I mean, he was a totally different kid beforehand. He didn't really talk. I mean, he's really shy. But after he had some clothes that gave him confidence, he really lit up he began to talk and, and really started to show his true self. And so seeing that experience, as my mom was is something that happened to other kids who are in the foster care system. And she reached out to some of her friends are also fostering and then they told her that pretty much the same exact thing happened. And that was common. Yeah, so that's when I had the initial idea. did begin close? Well,

that is awesome night. That is an amazing story. And you know what it's near and dear, that touches my heart personally. Because all my listeners know, I'm like an open book that'll hold nothing back. So I'm just gonna go ahead and tell you guys when I grew up here in Vegas. My parents were, you know, going through the hard times. And I always joke about it now because I just say, look how far God brought me because I we were so broke. I used to wear casino T shirts to school. And when you said that, you know, he just lit up. I remember. I was considered the pretty girl that was like, had no clothes. You know what I mean? So one day, I'd be El Cortez. One day I'd be O'Shea's. I can laugh about it now. But when I heard you did that, Nigel, it really just took me back to that place. Because I remember, you know, all the kids had the fresh nude and back then they're called G knights on er, you know, I had nothing. I didn't have a starter jacket, like all the kids had. But I I just look back now. And I think, you know, look how God how God's brought me how far he's brought me. But I want to give back in that way. So when I heard that you had this nonprofit. It really spoke to my heart because you're right, it does boost your confidence. Who knows what could happen for me? Had I had clothes and make me confident back in school? You know, I don't think people realize how much of a party actually does play in kids lives. So I heard that you have got quite a few donations coming in. You need some kids for the holidays.

This is my pastor, his wife and his beautiful, his and his son. And I just recently started going to the church, what about five, six months ago. But let me tell you guys my story. It was a 10 year journey, a 10 year journey to find a church that I feel comfortable. And I feel loved. And I feel welcomed to. I originally got saved in Seattle, Washington. And when I moved back to Vegas, it was just a struggle for me to find what I felt, you know, for those things, or whatever, you know. So I was going to a non denominational church for a while because I do love the diversity of the non denominational churches. And I love the directness of the word. Everybody has their style, but I found all that in your church. I love it. So I just want to say thank you so much, and not to mention any body that can get my husband to go to church. Oh my God. Listen, you guys might want to check this church out. So you guys just told me some great information that I wasn't aware of. The church was originally called Living Word ministries. it was right it 20 years he actually founded the church that we now the Living Word ministry. 20 years ago back in 2000. Same year, we got married.

Well, yeah, he started the church back in 20 20,000. Uh huh. I had no idea. You know, ministry was nowhere. You know, I was in church, I was going to church I was I was following Jesus. But I actually when he started, I wasn't a member of his church. We were actually members of another church at the time. But eventually, we ended up joining Living Word and then the Lord called us to another church. And then this call into ministry came right around 2018 It's right in that that area, during during a pretty interesting time of our lives. Well, what happened was just it's a long story, but let me just give you just the big, big logs, okay. Got what God did was he he created this new passion that for a particular community 89106, but in particular, Vegas heights, we my wife and I, we were both born here in Las Vegas raised up on the west side, quote, unquote, right. But, you know, we moved out, but then god Re ignited this passion for our communities, man for his word. And for, for people who who needed Jesus. That's right. So we started to come back into the community, and it was a passion for Vegas heights in in particular. So we just began to pray about Okay, God, how do you want us to get involved in Vegas? sighs it wasn't about ministry or leading a church. Not at all that was nowhere in the picture. But this passion just kept on growing. And I was asking the Lord, how do you want us to move? What do you want us to do? Long story but even shorter. One day, my father invited my wife and I out to my parents invited us out for pancakes. And I don't know where he's telling us the story. And he says, Hey, I feel like I've taken the ministry as far as I'm supposed to take it. And I believe God is has designed your lives to step in and take it farther. Well, he didn't know that. Six months, seven months prior to that God had began to register this, this calling him and all that he had no idea. So all the rush from a lot

I wanted to say one thing that you guys did when I first joined you had a Bible study. And the Bible study was unique because they had the men off by themselves. Actually, in that investment property, you guys would walk across the street to the investment property. And you guys would have your worship and your Bible study there. And then us women, we would stay in the sanctuary. And I just I really enjoyed that effect. That's how you roped my husband in because he really enjoyed that as well. And Sean, you were just amazing. Leading that Bible study. My daughter who's 23 My oldest one came, she just loved it. She's in Seattle, you know, complaining that she can't find anything like that up there as well. So yeah, so what how are you doing with the ministry? What you know, give us your take on everything?

Yeah, just really quick. I feel like women. You know, speaking of the Bible studies, how we were had the women's group men's group. Women have a need to gather together and to bond and to talk. There are a lot of things that you know when women Get together you can kind of talk about some things that you want when you're with your guys and vice versa. And so that's just always been a passion of mine is just just women women pouring into one another. You have the sisterhood. Yeah. So that's the name of our women's ministry, Facebook live and work. It's called the sisterhood and you have it on Facebook as well. So if you're a woman in Las Vegas so it's it's it's it has so many branches. One is just women in the community who want sisterhood, we're, you know, we were on there yesterday, just checking in on everybody because Christmas, they say is the most wonderful time of the year. But for some people it might not be you know, I have several people who's in that group who has lost loved ones and different things. And so it's just a great place for women together. Well, you know, we have always just lived our lives. In a way, you know, since we've been following following the Lord just everything loosely, because we can have plans. But God's plan is the one that will prevail. The Bible tells us that in Proverbs, and so when you live your life like that, so even like, you know what, the investments, yeah, you know, you can invest in things, but then you also have to invest in people. That's good. So when you do those two things, they they, they go together, and then you just live your life, and you just listen, you know, for what God wants to tell you. Even with the investment properties, we've had so many amazing opportunities. But we did not budge until we're like, Lord, if you don't want this for us, do not let us walk through this door. Because everything that glitters is not gold. We've had a lot of people who, you know, kind of stepped off into those kinds of opportunities that seemed good. So I would just say like, even with the investing, I think it's great, what you're doing and, you know, for anybody's listening to have a realtor, you know, who is listening to Jesus? I mean, I'm not trying to, you know, sell Monique here, but I mean, if I was gonna be my, I would want somebody just like you, because I know I can trust you for one. And you know, you're following the leading of the Lord. Yeah. And I believe God gives you extra properties. Appreciate that up. Thank you. Those are the ones that other people can't find. Yeah,

I appreciate that. And it's funny that you brought that up. Because, you know, of course, with my clients permission, I tell them, Listen, pray on it. Yeah. Pray on it first. And let's see, if God's leading you that way. You know, if they've already told me, you know, that, yeah, they're believers, you know, as they listen. You want to make sure that he's leading you because he isn't this could be a nightmare. Yeah, you know, not that I want to discourage anybody. But at the same time, you always need to consult.

And you know, the bank, they weren't giving out loans or anything for it. It was like okay, it has to be a cash offer. So it was a great it was listed. It was a great, great price. But there were three other people ahead of us. So the first person so they fell out and they were all cash offers.

I'm glad you're saying that because actually I wanted you guys to cut yeah share your testimony to encourage even my listeners that for whatever reason they're there in the middle of Escrow or they're going through this process with an even another lender or lender, another realtor. I just want to tell you keep like she said, just, you know, keep that faith and if it's for you, he'll open the door if it isn't, be glad that he's okay. You know, sometimes my buyers get a little discouraged because you guys know our market is hot. It's super hot and they get discouraged because there's very little inventory. I say listen, just be patient. Wait, just patients you know, but like you said if it's for you he'll open the door if it isn't he'll shut it Period. Period. So I listen.
